The Wicker Tome is a podcast that explores the legends, the folklore, the old wives tales, and the superstitions of Southern Appalachia. These stories are all rooted in lore that was passed down orally through the hills and the hollers of the shadowy mountains that are shrouded in myth. When people were isolated to their small communities throughout the hills, they were wary of anyone who was an outsider. The events that transpired were sometimes supernatural in nature, and there was an explanation and a reply by the people who lived them and put names to the haints in the shadows of the hills. I always wondered about the flesh and blood people that tried to put names to the things that crept through the corners of their vision and what those experiences would be like in real life. That, combined with my love of writing and the unexplainable gave me the vision to begin writing stories that revolved around the reality of the ghosts, the haints, the cryptids and the goosbumped flesh that have been drifting through the hearts and minds of our ancestors for generations.
